For several years I have been a member of several forums related to hunting and/or firearms. Having recently joined HuntingNut, I found that it has replaced three of the others with a better attitude by members and higher quality of discussion.

My thanks to to all members and wishes for an enjoyable and productive New Year.

Thank you for the comments.

HuntingNut has been a fun hobby for me for the past 6 years, but its really only been the last year that its really exploded like it has with the new software and server upgrades. We upgraded the end of January 2005 and we are just shy of 2,000 members and are closing in rapidly on 700,000 hits since then! That kind of growth is amazing, expecially when other prominant websites seem to be stalling or loosing members.

I attribute our success firstly to the great friendly and knowlegable members we have here, secondly to the users of PointBlank who keep referring people to it and this site on a continual basis (my referrers log fills up quickly from people who find there way here from threads on other websites) and finally to the site itself that tries to offer something for everyone.

I am looking into the idea of getting a dedicated server to promote website speed and stability because if we continue to grow at this pace we'll truely need it Smile

My goal with HuntingNut is to offer useful services like PointBlank, Photo Albums, Forums, Reloading Database etc etc and make it a pleasant, friendly place to visit. You all let me know if we are failing to achieve any of that.

I tip my hat to all of you for helping make it the success it is. Cant wait to see how the next year turns out!

Yeah , me thinks the same way .. There is only one other forum I have been on , that was of the same caliber as this one , and I have seen a big change in the six or seven months that I have been here ..
All the best to everyone , and remember , the success is not a single person but the group as a whole ..
Yeah me a joker too , 10 ring , but we dont even need to go there ..
Jack

I've said it before.......... this is the "best" forum I have been to on the net, bar none.! It is a friendly place. Thanks everyone for making it that way. I don't know if you noticed, well maybe Bushmaster did, but I like to joke around as well. Smile

Cool Thanks for the compliments Handloader!

I think the biggest asset to the site is Dallan, most of the other sites I've involved myself in have been run by one or possibly only a couple more people. Dallan was willing to go out on a limb and get assistance from the members to assist him! This is the reason that I feel that this is the best site out here for many. It brings credibility to everyone, non of us are the expert but with everyone working together the site becomes Expert! Point Blank is a great program and helps many people and they then come on in. My only regret is that not more stay with us and join in, just think what it would be like if 50% of the members posted 3 - 5 posts a week! Dallan would need a New Server. BTW just got in my new server for the house, I'm setting it up to be the only direct link to the outside, the other 3 computers in the house will access the net via remote desktop. That way I only have to run AV, ASpy etc active on one puter. Just gotta Love technology in some respects. Cool
