Brass substitute for 7.5x55

Any ideas what a rookie reloader could use for 7.5x55 brass? It was suggested I use .284 brass which I found at Sinclair's (out of stock and $63 for 100) but no place else seem to have any. I'm really not in need but in case I am, I want to know what to do.

I have been using .284 Winchester brass to make 7.5 Swiss cases. Gil Martin told me about this years ago and it works well. Take care...

I got some at Graf & Sons. head stamped "GRAF". I think they do a special run every so often. Right now they have these >> www.grafs.com/retail/c...goryId/770

OOoo thanks Mike I just ordered some Prvi brass, for about .45 a round, and some dies from them. Much cheaper than I was able to find. I'm sure I looked through Grafs but I must have gotten nicked by the Norma price. Went to the gun show and No K-31 rifles, No 7.5 brass, No 7.5 loaded rounds, supposed to be a collector's show... I did pick up some primers, then I found them for $5 cheaper later on. Impulse buyer, as I am. I might just go shoot that thing today, the sun is out for once.

NICE Suz, You'll like the K-31 a lot. Very sweet-shooting rifles.

44Marty!! Yeah I do like it. Went out today and put a few rounds through it. I need a scope though, my eyes can't focus both sights good enough to shoot very well. I hit the target at 50yds and that's good enough for me without a scope and shooting off hand. The trigger is spooky-lite. It's lighter than anything I've got (I believe). Sort of a match style 2 stage trigger. Because of that, I think a side safety would be nice. I have to get used to the bolt...I kept wanting to slap it up or down.

Pumpkin! Ya know what? The Hornady loaded rounds I got have a Graf's stamp on the head.

I was thinking that the actual manufacturer of the brass was Hornady.
