Like many others I am new and figuring the program out. Under "view data", elevation, total drop and max -y are giving me a hard time. Is total drop the drop of the bullet over the the distance it is specified for? From what i read on another post on here, max -y is theoretical with no gravity involved. how about elevation? Does any of this relate to MOA? Any good info you all would recommend to read up on to get better acquainted with these terms? Thanks. By the way, this is a nice program. It is a nice way to log loads and experiment via the computer. Thank you!

Welcome to the confused. Simply stated the 'x' and 'y' axis is the placement of the bullet on the target. In Point Blank 'x' and 'y' do not have significance to ballistics, rather they are used for recording a sting of test rounds to determine group size for a given load. Just make up a quick guide to help you remember where 'x', '-x', 'y' and '-y' are located. Place the bullet on the target when you measure from center of target to the quadrant where the impact point is located.

The horizontal line, left of center point is '-x' and right of center point is 'x'.
The vertical center line, up from center point is 'y' and down from center point is '-y'.

Measurements are made from the horizontal and vertical center lines not a diagonal measurement. Measure from the center lines to the center of the bullet hole. Then type in the 'x' and 'y' values in the proper entry block noting '-' where required.

As you enter bullet placement go ahead and enter your chronograph muzzle velocity for each round and the program will give you the average muzzle velocity when you complete your entries for the fired string.
