I received the email below, pretty interesting if your from PA
I hope the pictures show up.

This was hit by a truck on Mill Creek Road.
This is a BIG cat!
A friend sent this to me. The mountain lion was killed east of Altoona and south of State College , Pa. northeast of Raystown Lake between Mt. Union and Huntingdon , Pa. .. One doesn't think about big cats being in this eastern part of the country. Game commissions have denied it for a long time.

That is one big cat. Looking at the size of its paw I sure would hate for him to take a swipe at me. Reckon his "chewin' gear" would be even more impressive.

They claim that we have some big cats wandering the scrub out here in Australia. Rumour has it that they are descended from mascots released by US Forces when they had to depart for the front line during WW II. No real proof has surfaced though.

Thanks DoubleJs.

Cheers, Vince

Seems like they are spreading. Two were seen and one shot just outside of Chicago recently, Illinois State Police have reported five confirmed sightings in the last month and a lady I work with brought in pictures of a pair of them drinking from her decorative pond in her backyard (north-central Illinois). She says that they show up about once every three or four days just about dawn.

I couldn't imagine walking out into my backyard and seeing a pair of mountain lions there. If I did, then that would be about the time my backside would start going "fifty cent, five cent, fifty cent, five cent"..... O o O o O o O o Very Happy Laughing

There is no doubt though that any of the big cats are simply magnificent looking animals. Nothing looks more majestic than a tiger, or any of the big fellas, sitting with their head held high.

I'm not so sure that they would taste very good BBQed. Probably a little stringy. Remember, a buzzard won't eat a cat.

I've heard from several people now that Mt Lion is by far the best meat they've ever tried.

Vince,

What if you looked out the bathroom door and saw one in the house???

Mountain Ranch Lion Incident

The link above takes you to the newspaper article that happened about ten miles from where I'm sitting. Very Happy Everyone around here has lion stories. Coyote hunters go in pairs now, as calling in a lion instead of a yote is not so unusual.
