Hi Gang

Mine is in .308 Winchester and I'm thinking of getting rid of it. Why do I want to sell it? Well I don't use it - it just sits in a gun box, gathering dust. It is such a schlep to get to the long ranges that I can't be bothered. I've only put about 200 rounds through it and it's topped off with a nightforce 5 - 22 x 56. And it's silenced too!

And, I could do with another hunting rifle instead.

Question is, "What's it worth?" Bear in mind I am in England...

Thanks all

David

I'd take a guss of 75-85% or so of current purchase price ?? Confused

Its pretty much new assuming the barrel or anything isnt rusting. 200 rounds isnt alot of ammo. Cant see too much deperation there Very Happy

Could you legally sell the gun to someone outside the UK? Just thinking that could prove to be difficult.
How difficult is it to sell guns within the UK?

YoteBuster,

To sell anything related to guns internationally you need a permit. Just importing from the US to Canada or Canada to the US you need permits. Sad

To think if NAFTA was real I'd get myself some cheap surplus rifles to fill my collection from the US Very Happy

Yotebuster

For the sake of simplicity, It's going to be a UK sale. It's easy to buy and sell firearms in the UK - gangsters, hoodies and drug dealers all have them. We legal, honest people need special permission to own one. They buy them in pubs, carparks etc with cash. We have to go to special shops with mountains of paperwork. Makes you feel good to be alive. Surprised

Anyway, as long as the buyer has a permit to have one, they can have it. The permit states which calibre, how many rifles of that calibre and how much and of what type of ammo they can have too! That makes it real safe - you get your 'extras' from the carparks etc... A good site in the UK is Guntrader

You can do a private deal as long as the paperwork is good. When I've sold this one, I've then got to apply for a re-issue of permission to replace it in the same calibre.

Right then, whose moving to the UK? Very Happy

That's what I thought. Still......what a pain in the arse to buy and sell guns and ammunition within your own country! I think I'll stay right here and enjoy what freedoms we still have! Although, we still have to deal with the likes of New Orleans Mayor, Ray Nagin, illegally confiscating and holding the guns of American Citizens! What bulls**t is that??!!
