Scratch well folks, they look interesting.the hype is interesting, and loading the suckers sure as heck is........interesting.
resized as usual...wow feels really easy
went to prime....URRRRR WRONG....didnt have correct shell holder for lee autoprime...wonder if 45/70 will work??? yip close enough...URRR WRONG AGAIN...fat arse of case wont fit between walls of the auto prime.....scratch head Scratch Scratch
place small coin on ram of press Scratch place bullet eating die in press and carefully press primer in......
next case give it a good debur in primer pocket and repeat..... Very Happy
yip its working, dropped a primer...dug another out...then realised the rcbs die was adding crimp Mad Mad Mad ok all not lost...put 45/70 powder through die in so it engauges shoulder... yip that works better Very Happy
get them all primed
measure out powder and charge cases....
then start to seat the flat base projectiles...yes you guessed it half of the necks now too tight....
put FL die back in and screwed down the expander button...opened necks back up a bit...deburred them well
got all but one in...that one did the dreaded doughnut Mad Mad Mad
so broke more rules...took die out, poked round in base, carefully grabbed projectile with pliers and moved ram down...out it came...couldnt use inertia puller as case too fat...
tipped out powder...resized live primed case..... wtf wtf carefully and wearing eye protection... resized case twice...shoulder a tad rounder and shorter than ideal but its sized...so re primed..this time I took my through powder die and threaded it UPWARDS into press...worked even better
and finally got that round loaded
about an hour for 12 rounds........plurry pleased I dont own a WSM ,put these together for mate.....hope like heck they ignite...most of primers are flush,a couple are SLIGHTLY proud...guess he should be able to press them deer per with press primer tool are similar....
so much for whip up a few rounds to try.

I always thought that the WSM's were a waste of time.

The WSM’s are allegedly very accurate, but I sometimes wonder if many of them were an answer looking for a question.

Well done on working out the problems Elvis...I would have just said, nope, ain’t gonna happen.

Elvis,
With the correct tools for the job its no harder to load than any other caliber.
I have a good mate with a 30 wsm, just annoyingly accurate on factory ammo, hes saving his cases for when he needs to reload. He scored 500 factory rounds for an obscenely cheap price. 3 rds into 12mm at 100m, consistently.

had an old RCBS.....thingy in box of bits....bet of research says its a priming tool with bits missing....basically a stand that holds shell holder and has rod up its guts to push it in via a handle pivoted, that lays along bench...well out with mircrometer...about 6mm or 1/4" hole.....hmmmm 4" nail is about right...cut n file to size....all primers now in flush.....but Id made rod too long ,perfect for already fitted primers but no room to fit a primer.....so back to bits n bobs box, found 1/4" bolt, sliced it to correct length and filed ends smooth.
found deprimed 308 case and a spent primer and yip it works a treat, may never ever need to use it but if I DO...well now I have to tool for the job.
