Now that gives me an excellent idea for the next time I take my grandson hunting. Thanks mate.

Vince ,,,, I'm not sure this writer gets the true meaning of our Bill of Rights , The 2nd Amendment . It's more on the limiting of the Government and what they are allowed to do .

I've never read all the articles but for the true meaning the articles of confederation in the federalist papers expands ,the thoughts behind all the commas .

www.congress.gov/resou...ist+Papers

Overview

The Federalist (later known as The Federalist Papers) is a collection of 85 articles and essays written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay under the pseudonym "Publius" to promote the ratification of the United States Constitution. The first 77 of these essays were published serially in the Independent Journal, the New York Packet, and The Daily Advertiser between October 1787 and April 1788. A two-volume compilation of these 77 essays and eight others was published as The Federalist: A Collection of Essays, Written in Favor of the New Constitution, as Agreed upon by the Federal Convention .

They had a standing army back then that was part of the ruling government just like we have today.

When asked who was the militia one founding father stated it was the whole of the people.
That kinda means we still have a militia and if they try tto confiscate our guns and ammo it will be just like Lexington all over again.

Well, let's ask a guy who was involved in writing both the Virginia and United States constitutions.

"I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials."
— George Mason, in Debates in Virginia Convention on Ratification of the Constitution, Elliot, Vol. 3, June 16, 1788

yip I keep in touch regularly....
what sucks about this mongrel and makes it plurry near impossible to stop it happening again,is the fact IT played it cool and normal all the way along,IT broke no laws getting the firearms and ammunition, indeed nor the large,hi capacity magazines
IT outwardly appeared normal and even trained police folk saw nothing to be concerned about...... IT was simply a bad egg with an agenda,it firearms werent used IT was going to use a bomb.....
the fallout for legitamite firearm users is still taking shape but at this stage ALL semi centrefire are gone

centrefire and shotgun mag capacity is reduced to 5
rimfire to 10

we have managed to pump and semi shotguns with fixed magazines of 5 or less (in process of nutting out how best to reduce the likes of winchester defenders)
guys with lever action rifles will be in same boat...

its not affecting me directly at this stage and if rules stay as they look now it wont do so.

Radar will possibly be trying very hard to stay below the radar..as it were... being in the job he does it is probably best if he keeps his head down and doesnt put anything out in open forum as others may decide to Scratch Scratch ummmm Scratch Scratch take exception to what is typed...Im sure when time is right and the dust has cleared he will be along and be able to share what will hopefully by then be the "official" word on whats what.

I’ve spoken with Radar and what Elvis said is 100% correct. I believe he may well be working in the area where the shooting took place at the moment, and because of his job cannot talk about anything, which is totally understandable. One word out of place, even innocently, could cost him dearly, so he will be concentrating on doing his job, not the “political side” of things or the ramifications to shooters of what happened.

Now I will give you the benefit of the doubt and pardon your ignorance on your comment re: the queen...
I will take that as being the current government of New Zealand and NOT HRH Elizabeth II. The royal family has been invested in the people of the commonwealth and former commonwealth since the first world war.

NONE of the royals would undertake anything without assent from the respective House of Commons which is in fact the elected government.

The crown does not and has not "held court " to decide the fate of the nation(s) activities for over a century.
