They vary in size depending on where they live (species) up to 5 ft. shoulder height and from 240 to 700 lbs according to National Geographic. Personally I've only seen them in the 4 ft or so range and that was from northern Canada. I didn't know it but there are large ones and small ones and no, an elk is larger than a caribou and a moose is the largest of all. Don't you guys use the internet?
the things
I have to
do around
here.....

LOL!
Ok that range sounds more in line with what we killed. Here was my wifes:
I'd figure it was 4.5ft at the shoulder or so and approx 450lbs on the hoof. Mature Deer here run around 325lbs or so and a cow elk is around 550 on average, so yea... between mule deer and elk in size.
The reindeer I've seen on TV do look pretty small compared to most caribou I've seen, so it certainly does seem to be alot of fluctuation in sizes.

Yep. Caribou was from a trip to Alaska in 1998. Took alot of saving to pull that trip off and I'm glad we did, it would cost 4x as much to do the same trip today.
