finally found my calipers and measured up the .277 projectiles and YES they are exactly 7mm in diameter Very Happy

I was referring to the 7mm (or is that 7.2mm) projectile, been around a long time
Not sure if anything came before the 7x57 (must have) but it was created in 1892

The 7mmx57 was the first commercially made 7mm cartridge according to my notes.
