National Anthem for the year 2013

Australians all let us revolt,
For we are carbon free;
We’ve iron ore and coal and more,
But live in poverty;
Our land abounds in Nature’s gifts,
To use we do not dare;
In history’s page, we’re now stone age
What chance Australia fair?
In worried strains then let us ask,
“What chance Australia fair?”

All too true if these numptys impose the carbon tax they're after.......

Still don't understand all this stuff around carbon taxes. I've always been told that CO² is a first order chain reaction and that it increases exponential. So no way we can get too much CO² in our air because it's the feed of a lot of things in nature. After all: we are only breathing the manure of all this green stuff...
Now if there is 1 thing nature really can control without our help, than sure that will be the CO²-contents in the air. Look at our past, when everything was burning, even the ancient dragons could spit fire and all the time the CO²-contents was kept below 0.1 %

On the other hand, when you need new taxes, you need a new story. Reminds me of Henkel in the Netherlands were they invented a new kind of emulsifier (soap) many years ago, based on citric acid. It was not as good as the ones containing phosphates and it was more expensive... but with good marketing they got the thing sold blaming the phosphate for all diseases in nature. At the end we got so little phosphates in our wastwater that sealife was starving...
When you push here, nobody always knows where it will start shaking or moving...

There is only one reason our dimwitted govt is still pushing ahead with this stupidity is because they made such a song and dance about it, that it would not be politically expedient to go back on it now. They have sent the budget from 20 billion surplus to 80 billion deficit, in one year. Now they hasve to try and claw it back i.e. new tax. And what could be more politically correct than trying to save the planet, sounds great but it aint gunna happen.
maybe our UNZUD mates could put some light on the subject, but they introduced a carbon tax a couple of years age.
Our Labour govt has got so far into bed with the left wing idiots, that call themselves greens, they cant back out. But I spose most of you know the story. Its amazing what some of these polititions will do to keep in power. Dear old Juliar had her 50th birthday on thursday. There werent many birthday cards sent to her from the public I can assure you.
