I just sent off my SKS and my Hakim to a gun show to be sold. Crying or Very sad

Makes me sad to see them go but I'm going to finance a couple more guns out of it anyway. I put a price of $350 on the SKS and $500 on the Hakim, I just don't shoot them. I decided they were so perfect that I better not fire them anymore and they ended up just takin up excess storage space. Least that's my excuse, if anyone asks. It's sort of like hi-grading the gun locker, you know culling out the weak. They were cool but if you can't use em....lose em. If they don't sell, I can at least visit now and then...

Good luck with your plans Suz. I know how hard it is to part with a much loved and enjoyed firearm, but the time comes when one must rationalise for the sake of upgrading.

Ya know Vinnie if I was makin more money I'd just build a bigger gun cabinet. Was actually going to do that this year. Things have gotten out of hand with inventory, in my little closet space, and I don't have room for 3 of my rifles and I'm makin 2 more. So it's time to prioritize. The guy handling my guns at the gun show didn't call me yesterday about any perspective buyers.......maybe he'll get some bites today, or maybe he sold them for the prices asked.

I just sold off 5 rifles and 2 handguns, so there is space in my gun vault. If there are some you are afraid you might sell that you don't really want to part with, I'll be more than happy to provide a temporary home for them, Suz. I still have one more to go:

With your woodworking skills you could make a new gun cabinet to hold all your guns and have some extra space for more.... maybe that man of yours will need the room?

Don't talk me out of it PaulS, I need money not more space for more guns. I'm thinkin my days as a curator of old guns have passed very quietly and as fun as they are, they're not very girl friendly to shoot. I like the larger caliber but not the weight of the guns. They're impractical for me to do anything with other than bench shooting.

I wanna keep my Mosin, it's pristine and fun to shoot and my K31 cause I put a beautiful stock on it and the action is a work of art anyway, and my old K98 Mauser is all matching numbers and a great shooter (heavy.... but so is the K31). I have other more modern guns, all keepers.

Marty I want your gun!! I hope you get your money out of it, looks like a lot has been spent. Why in the world are you lettin that one go anyway? If I had one shooting like that one I'd buy it a silk tie and go dancing!

FN I'm building an old Mauser action. Putting a new 8mm Lothar Walther barrel on it and I've done quite a bit of refurbishing on the action. Going to fit a laminate thumbhole stock to it and I have a wonderful scope to put on it. Also in the future I have to buy an upper for my AR15 lower. I'm going to put a piston system on it from Black Rifle Arms.

So I'm losing two and gaining two. My money tree needs some fertilizer though.
