I am trying to change the front sight on my Kentucky Long rifle but am unable to get it to move. I tapped the rear sight out (left to right) just as easy as could be. Am I missing something or is it just that tough? wtf

Picture? Did you try both ways? May need a press.

I've seen pistol sights that wouldn't budge when smacked pretty hard with a hammer but came out with ease when a sight pusher was used !!!

It will come out and a sight pusher would be my preference. Some sights can be really tight. All the best...

HA HA I finally got it!!!!! I had to re-soak it with Croil for a few hours tonight again but it gave way with a couple good whacks. Now to get it to the range and see if I can get it zeroed.

One thing sometimes you got to worry about is the dove tail being tapered so that it can only come out from the one side. Although lousy for most applications, staking in sights that way is cheap so its been done.
