That looks pretty good to me mate...but I would give a little thought to having a closer look at 48gn.

Its strange, but I've always found the ADI powders to give the best accuracy at approximately .5gn below max.

The 3 loads that impact the same general area are 48.5, 49.0 and 49.5.
I would use 49.0gr as my load.
Keep in mind OCW is about finding the sweet spot where the bullet exits the barrel at a consistent point in the vibration of harmonics not the tightest group.

Sorry for the hijack Vince,
Just checked my last load - 48.5 (I changed projectiles as Winchester 240grn were getting hard to come by) which is .5grn below max.

Thanks Chambered, I keep looking at the target and just keep going round and round in circles as it all looks the same to me. or as Vince said, try 48, no try 49, no 49.5 looks good, here I go again.

No hijack mate...we are both doing the same thing.

I normally load Remington 80gn PSP...but a very good mate had 250 Nosler BT-V bullets that he didn't need so he gave them to me. My hunting buddy had a lot of success with 55gn bullets in his .243 so I thought...no reason why I can't do the same...so here I am.

Just an FYI, a twist of 1 turn in 7-8" would be "faster" than 1 turn in 10". The Greenhill formula shows that a .243 1 in 10" twist would handle bullets up to about 1.07" long. I did note that Hornady says that their 105 grain A-Max will not stabilize in a 1 in 10" twist but they don't give the bullet length.

Thanks Chambered. I did email Hornady and suggested that they include the bullet length in their technical info. Not many others have that info either.

I have a box of seirra 107 grain hpbt match #1570
and it says on the box 7" through 8" twist barrels only

I have had several email conversions with Hornady and they have been very forthcoming and quick to respond. The best of any company I've communicated with (I won't say who is the worst). Makes me want to use their bullets more.

I have asked them for the very same information. Knowing a bullets length is important for determining how well it will work on your rifle. They advised me that they feel keeping bullet length confidential is important to their competitive edge and if someone really wants this information at least they have to buy a box of bullets and become a customer to get it.
