Got my mount for the Swiss K-31 today and put the cheapo scope on it. The front bell on the scope outside diameter is 45mm and barely clears, I have about 1/8" clearance over the rear fixed sight. The rings are Weaver tip off mounts for a .22 (because of 3/8" rail) and although they work fine and hold and scope about 10mm above the rail, they have a clamp that could very well squish the scope tube if you torqued it too much. They were steel and available, that's my excuse. I thought about a bigger rail, but because the ejection of the cases is almost straight up, it might interfere with ejection, and the way it is now they clear just fine. Haven't fired it with the scope on yet, just used an inert round. Can't wait to shoot but too busy right now. I wanted to post these photos for those of you in the Swiss mood.

Suz
Who makes the rail ? Did you need to drill and tap for the rail or was it just a screw on ?

That's a right smart rig you have there. Very nice pictures. Take care...

I'm looking forward to your results! How about a little more info on the mount?

The mount is made by Swiss Products (Kalispell, Montana). They have them at Brownells (#100-000-725) and Grafs, a few other places. It clamps on with one single screw without marring the metal and it's something that looks impossible because it clamps on the thumb indent on the receiver (right side) which is bent at a less than 90 degree angle. It clamps very securely, is surprising it works. It's made of anodized, hardened aluminum, but the clamp part is steel. I might go out after the parade today and give it a shot. Did I tell you it's off-set, to the right, but it seems ok to get used to.
