Anyone watching the World Cup in South Africa?

Since the NHL is over now, with the Black Hawks winning for the first time since 1961, giving Toronto the chance to possibly win in 6 more years. Haha

Well, as you'd probably figure I'd be rooting for Greece, but no, a bunch of old men and a crazy coach with no goalkeeper ain't a team to root for. Already losing 1-0 to South Korea 15 minutes into the game.

Actually I got a Paraguay shirt, root for a team that is "unknown" that has been doing good in their qualifying and friendly matches. Just to be different. Laughing

World Cup??? Is that a beer drinking contest????

If it is I'll have another AlleyCat from the Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe. That's in Eureka, CA, by the way. Very Happy

Sadly no, its a soccer competition. The US team tied England 1-1 on Saturday.

Oh, that's the game where folks run around out in a pasture kicking each other and a little white ball?

Actually I kinda like soccer, my kids played it for several years. But I haven't watched any of the World Cup yet.

Australia didn't play that bad of a game. They handled the ball well, and took it from the Germans well too. Just need to watch for the quick strikers alittle better.

You think Aussie got a hiding wait til New Zealand takes on some of its competitors, I'm thinking double figures, anyway who's gonna watch it while the mighty All Blacks are playing.

For those that don't know the All Blacks are to NZ what the Dream Team are to USA. It's our national RUGBY team, no sissys here - man on man full contact sport no helmets no pads, it's our national game, if you haven't played rugby as a kid or teen you aren't a real kiwi. I'll even give the Aussies their dues - they play it as well! Very Happy

Here we are saying that Kewel being sent out is unfair
And the hand ball that were being ignored is also a shame.

Nevermind, the idea is to play the game, winning is good, but a good game is better..
sorta like hunting, the meat is great, but the hunt is better...

I have no use for field goal kickers much less an entire stadium full of those little "fellows" [I use the term fellows VERY loosely]
Those guys have WAY too much fun wrapping their legs around each other and hugging after a goal.
I turned on a soccer game after a rain.
I wanted to see which was more exciting.
The soccer, or watching the cracks dry up.
The cracks won.

Thanks Eric...

Couldn't have put it better myself.

I couldn't care less about soccer if I tried...

I hate to say it Joe, but I'm pulling for the American "men" to lose on Friday, so maybe, I will hear less about this stuff when I turn on SportsCenter.

As for all of those horns blowing.
Have any of you guys noticed that when they blow, they close their eyes?
The fans can't stand to watch those "fellows" either. Hug Hug Hug Hug Hug Hug Hug Hug

Missed the game, was out watching paint dry.

What I did see (while cleaning my trap gun) was Aus moving the ball the wrong way, each and every time. And that NOISE. Are you kidding me? Just how drunk ya gotta be to like that? Ton's of noise and guys moving the ball THE WRONG WAY. wtf

Waitin' fer rugby matches to start airing here. THAT'S a game. Rugby's what soccer wishes it could be!

Don't blame us, we are not there!
We even lost our new (foreign) dutch trainer to the russians...
but it seems he agreed to pay about 1 mio euro back.
Altough I played soccer myself when young, I never could find a pleasure in watching such stupid game. They all run for the ball and once they get it, they try to get rid of it as fast as possible, so that again they can try to get that ball back...
maybe that's life: only the things you loose become very valuable...
