I want to make a set of old style dueling pistols. I have the rifled barrels but need some ideas for the action. I am thinking break-open center fire with fixed sights with a gun that looks like a black powder muzzle loader. I would love to have an exposed hammer but I can't seem to fit a side lock to the center fire mechanism.

I hadn't considered a rolling block action but it looks good - The lines are different from either the muzzle loader or modern break open action. I suppose I might be able to smooth it out to fit the profile I am hoping for.

I don't know what is available to you machine shop wise but miniture trapdoors in 45 LC. would be smokin. Especially with "cowboy" loads
