Kevin,
Looks like you had a good time. Sorry about the O'BS visit. Nothing like the mountains or the ocean to get your mind on track and get yourself centered up again.
Best,
Ed

I'd pegged you for a comment on the Winchester.
But either way, it was sweet of you to notice. Wink

Youd'a liked my mount on the trail ride.
He was a real trail-horse. Had him doing figure-8's and even backing-up real well in the first 2 mins. My sister was kinda wtf howdya do that? He kinda resisted at first, like most rentals, but I took my feet outta the stirrups and gripped him good with the spur ridges on my boot heels (no spurs, didn't need 'em) and let him know it aint no rookie on board. We got a long great and all it took was a vocal to get him going or stopped.

At the lunch break we played pick a pocket with the apple core and I treated him with same and a bit of granola bar. Had him drinking out of my hands from my water bottle too...."Joe" was a good ol' boy and he got plenty of praise. Sure footed and mellow. Rest of the mounts would spaz at darting deer but Joe didn't bat an eye. I'd taken him on overnights or high-passes anytime. Damn fine horse for a rental. I tipped my guide very well and let her know I appriceated his soundness. Joe was a definite highlight of my trip. I'da got some pics but it was raining too much.

*

Good to be back and recovering from all the actvities. I put on about 6 lbs....Go figure./ Embarassed

Sign in town said.... "large shipment hand gun ammo".
They were either not interested or it was all sold out cuz no one was in the lot!!! I almost had heart failure and couldn't bear to go in there cuz I'da tried to smuggle some home....... Laughing

Thanks for the kind words ya'll. Very much. Twas the trip of a lifetime and I'm glad I got to share it with you. And that buck I stalked wouldda been toast if I had Boomer, heck I was close enough to use Junior. Laughing

Ya mean a horse like this one. I never have to tie him anywhere except on "high line" at night. I would just turn him loose with only his halter on. If I wanted him, I would just call.

I couldn't even take a roll of TP off the trail without him following me and standing by...

Stories with this old guy? You bet...

Ahhhh.....Cutter.....haven't heard you mention him fer a while Bushy...guess ya still miss the poor old bugger mate. Crying or Very sad Nice to see another pic of him mate. By the way, how is young Zeus going these days mate?

Sounds like you had yourself a damn fine horse for your ride Stoves. Makes for a much more enjoyable outing when you don't have to fight your horse all day.

Cheers, Vince
