Good afternoon Gents,Ladies & others Smile

! Well I've had to come home for a coupleof days & thought I'd catch up with everybody. Wel so far this has been one of the most sucessful if not tireing trips I've done in years! I might add that after years of Roo shooting.Going back to the Skin&hair trade has been a experiance and a Half! Especialy when the owner of one property advied me that he had a slight Camel problem that needed adressing!!!!!! Now as I have a real problem with large smelly creatures that over the years have tried their hardest to really shorten my life expectency,I laughingly advised him that it was'nt my problem ! Very Happy

Of course he pointed out the fine print of my contract which clearly stated that I was there to destroy all feral animals as requested by the Mangers of thecproperties that I was working on ! Hense it's a quick trip home to rearm & resupply & then try & get my quoters up to finnish this contract !

Wow! You are certainly getting in alot of shooting. Dingo problems? Camel Problems? Kangaroo Problems? Man what a strange place you live in Smile

At the presant time I'm glad to say that this is just pest control ! Shoot & drop ! In a Pet food /human consumption camp it becomes a differant story (unless you can get in with a decient Processor (they employ hands to do the guting ) As for roos that's normaly a one man show shoot ,Dress & put on the racks on the back of the Vehicle & at the end of the night return & place in a large chiller

I always use a Mk1 1902 Enfeild that I have owend for many years ! due to the fact that she has taken every species of game that I have ever taken as a PH & the shere magizine capacity comes into it own in a case like this! The thing is a camel is not a hard animal to put down if you keep your wits about you. I always recomend the Neck shot. As once disturbed a Running camel streaches his/her neck right out. With out blowing my own horn it's also a case of that I have shot thousands of the Damned things over the years ! I miss & I'm out of pocket . There is no spirit of the Hunt for me at work anymore ,it's like working in a mobile slaughter house! Mind you I still get a kick out of going out trying to get a rabbit or two with my kids !

ive hunted the last 40 years with one {since i was 8}

i would think camel skin would be a great money maker.

Anything that ugly has got to taste uhhh...unusual, right? Rack of Camel ribs? Honey basted Camel barbecue? Camel Caccitore? Shocked

Gidday Dave4570. Mate, where do you call home? I am in Brisbane and have always wanted to get out for a hunt way outback. Never had a crack at a camel, don't think it would be any more difficult than deer in Qld though. Maybe one day.
