.257 Roberts. When depriming/resizing, I'm crimping the case shoulder. What should I do to adjust my die? |
Gil Martin speaks truth. It could be an adjustment problem. But, exactly what, I can't say because deprime/size dies are not supposed to have a crimping feature...that's the seating die.
It sounds as if you may be shoving the case 'way too far into the die. Orrrr...a thought just fell off the edge of my brain...by crimping, do you mean developing wrinkles in the shoulder?
If so that is just too much resizing lube on the case. Don't let the lube get onto the neck...just the case body, and use just a smidge, and that problem should solve itself.
I used my fingers before I started using Hornady spray on. Some guys say it is not very good, and in truth, I have stuck more cases since I started using it.
I am going to change, maybe go back to fingers, or a lube pad, like Bushy uses.
Good luck solving your problem.
Once you get acquainted with your Roberts, you will LOVE it.
I have mine halter broke. 3 loads with 115-120 gr. bullets at or under 1" @100 yds, and a couple with 87 grain bullets that are just a tad over 1/2"
Fie on further load development, I am just going to ENJOY it!
