I warn ya, its a long read lol. I had to include all the "bad luck" stuff that happened to set the tone for the hunt. Pretty crazy set of events but it all ended in a good way.

Heres the full article:

Howdy Great story Dallan. Man you did have some bad luck. I have had some bad luck on hunting trips at times my self. But it sure got better for ya with a buck like that it's neat how you and your brother went to different areas thats a productive way to do it and it worked well. Thats pretty much how 90% of the hunting is out there I think. 1 person with a tag and as many spotters as he can drag along. I saw full familys with 5-6 atvs driving around looking for a buck with only 1 gun among them, usually a son or daughter who had the tag, everyone else helping out. Very casual family oriented hunt.

It really surprised me though talking with other hunters, just how many people "cant see deer". I've been stopped looking over deer at 100 yards by people asking if I've seen anything and that they havetn seen anything all day. /shrug

Anyway glad you liked the story, it was extremely trying and frustrating but it ended well enough. I originally planned to be there the whole hunt so it was kindof strange to be headed home opening day. The area doesnt produce many non-typicals so I got really lucky finding this deer.
