Cool! Thanks for giving us the heads up on this Joe! Very Happy

385-gr. slug at 1850fps. Looks like a good deer stopper. Smile

That's old news D...

Winchester Supreme Partition Gold 2 3/4" are @1900 FPS (per the manufacturer), and they claim the 3" version is @ 2000 FPS...

I've never found good accuracy with Remington slugs in my gun, but am curious to hear about terminal performance of their new slug...

Maybe I'll try out Big Green again...

These are new being Accutip versions, but Remington does have other ones that are just as heavy and go as fast. Smile

Not much on slug guns, but the wife uses one.....

Hornady 250 SST 20 guage load is wicked accurate out of her 3X9 leupy scoped NEF single shot, and hits like a freight train.

125 yards, head shot.........

Dimitri

I only commented 'cause you seemed to think 1850 fps with a 7/8 oz slug was new....

Wilds,

Hornady has done some amazing things in the slug gun world. A new Mossberg 500 turkey/deer 20 gauge combo is on the shopping list for my wife this year.

Their 12 gauge load is even more devastating, and eventually I'll run short of Winchester Supreme's and start shooting the Hornady's (they cost about 1/3 less too).

Buy 'em now, before a hint of Deer Season comes along....

It'll take a special order from your gun guy, but a case or two can be had at a better price now then if you waited.

Would be same across the board per slug ammo.....

I like the SST's for fast and flat...in a rifled tube.

They do tend to run short once folks start gearin' up for deer season...

I intended to make the switch 2 seasons ago, but waited too long apparently....they were nowhere to be found at the time, so I loaded up on the Winchester's........

I Use the 1oz Win Hollow points in the rem 1100 ( smoothe bore slug barrel ) they do pretty well for a smoothbore. In my H@R Ultra 12ga I have bin using the Hornady 300 gr SST'S and they are very accurate
this is 3 shots at 75 yards

These new remingtons look pretty good though I just might have to try a box Very Happy
Joe

They have to come out with more slugs for the sissies
that cant handle the recoil of the full size slugs like the
Federal Power Shock 1 1/4 oz 12 ga at 1600 fps.

They might not reach out as far I will grant you that.

Heck, if I miss on the first shot I say lets just forget
it and go on home .... between the tears.... and not because
I missed either. Hurts like hell when you shoot em.

I luv them big ole .73 caliber cannon balls though.

A big sissie :-)
