Well a knife with a 4" blade maynot be the best choice, unless I use one of my bayonets its the longest knife I got, and I trust the knife more then bear spray though. Confused

If you're close enough to stab him, he's close enough to slap you. THis is a guy who knocks down trees for sparring practice....

I gotta agree with the guys 'Mitri......you will be trying to defend yourself against a wild animal that is equipped to kill whatever he wants to eat with a swipe of his paw....that has 4 or 5 claws that may well be bigger than a 4" knife!!! Maybe a 2lb piece of rump steak would be a better "weapon".... throw it to him then run in the opposite direction as fast as your legs can carry you. Very Happy

Now, if'n it was me I know I'd be safe cause the bear wouldn't come anywhere near me....as soon as he made any sort of a move in my direction I'd fill me pants Fart Yuck Faint and that is enough to keep anything away....believe me.....thats what my missus says anywayz. Yuck

Cheers Vince

And your right about the craping your pants, I would be easy to find if a bear scared me, they could follow the trail of crap. Very Happy Laughing

Another attack by a bear in sweden this weekend. A bear attacket two hunters, siriously wounding both of them. The hunters managed to fire several shots at the bear finally chasing him off.
The police in sweden has decided that the bear must be killed and the hunt will start today.
This time the attack was filmed. I will see if i can find a link to the video.

During the attack someone had time to video tape the bear? He was just standing there watching? Who's side was he on??
