Way to go partner.
Just make sure that all of the feathers are picked up before Mom gets home.
Manitoba can be pretty cold after hunting season if you and your Dad get tossed in the dog house if the house isn't clean.
Remember, BE SAFE, and enjoy the time with Dad.
God Bless,
Eric

We pluck the feathers right over a bucket so mostly in aint too messy, if it is we use the shop vaccum.
my dad is making my favorite waterfowl dish, Liver and Heart! yes, yes!
and oh yes it is getting quite cold outside but i dont mind it that much! not that i prefer it!haha
i am turning 18 in 3 weeks so then i get my FAC and i am a full licensed hunter! first thing on my list, got to me a deer!
then a bear and so on!
thinking of working as a Wildlife manager or something like but we will see
good luck with your hunting too!

You and my oldest Son Ben, who is 17 would get along well.
He has already filled a lot of space in the freezer with geese, and he too, is going into Wildlife Management after Graduation.
His High School offers many Wildlife courses and he has joined FFA as well.

If my school offered wildlife courses i would definetely take it but i t doesnt so i ll have to find out where i have to go to do that.
I was also thinking of going to Banff or Jasper National Park to see if i can work there as a Park Ranger or Assistant.
oh yeah we went hunting again, picked the wrong spot so we didnt shoot too many. had to stand in the water up to ur waist for more than 3 hours. that was not to fun but we go ourselves 10 big fat ducks which my dad is going to make for supper today i think.
Your son and i would probably get along well since were both interested in the same thing but id rather cherish the times that i can go huntng with my father, cause he wont be around forever.

good luck, but keep in mind that wildlife managers and game inspectors get little rest during hunting season and little time to truly enjoy the hunting. I did have a friend of the family growing up who was a game biologist in Wyoming, this guy did have a pretty cool job. I got to go with him as a pre-teen to count and observe bighorn sheep, whitetail deer and bear.....if you like the outdoors and enjoy wildlife - go for it. I don't want to throw a downer on this, just research the career and talk to some of the folks in that line of work to make sure you will get out of it what you want to... You can't ask for a better office environment than one of those fields.
Banff or Jasper would be awesome - large elk herds, bear, wolves........glacier blue waters......Calgary Flames nearby, Calgary Stampede, Tim Horton's, Curling, Red Green Show, great golf courses, Canadian people are awesome....sorry, I got side tracked about some of the things I truly loved about my 2 years in Canada

Many of my friends are Game Wardens and that is the last thing that Ben wants to be.
He has seen the long and uneven hours that they work. Especially during hunting season.
He is looking for something else in the DNR. The Forest Service is all over the place here in Minnesota. Just like tics.
He very well could end up there.
Enjoy the time with you Pop Weinbender.
Yesterday morning I was goose hunting with Ben and his buddy, and I managed to shoot the 73rd and 74th geese of the season.
Just cooked a big goose dinner tonight, and plan on smoking some up in the morning.
Will make Goose Jerky later this week or next week.
Grouse hunting back home in Ely next weekend with the Wife and Kids.
Early Goose Season closes for one week, so I will try to kill a deer or two with the bow, before the regular Duck and Goose Season opens. We will then head west for some duck hunting.
There isn't nothing quite as good as hunting with my Kids Weinbender. I'm sure that your Dad feels the same way.
We are very lucky. My wife doesn't hunt, but encourages me and the Kids to hunt as much as we can during hunting season.

Yeah i guess i didnt think about the uneven hours, actually i havent done any research on that field at all yet, ive been focusing more on researching about becoming a Pilot but before that i might go join the Canadian Forces to earn some money before i go for my Pilot license.
I love being in the great outdoors, weve been to the Rockies every year except this year and what i like most is to go hiking by myself, i know the dangers but i like the solitude and just watching nature. i guess i am on the wrong forum talking about this kind of stuff.
Me and my dad going hunting again soon, hope we get more ducks this time.
