Nah never Smile

Med size cow elk

Elk Veal (calf... Mmmmm tasty!!!)

I really dont have picts of any deer on my Foreman4x4... but every deer I shoot comes home on it. My hunt this fall will be very much ATV oriented. The hunting unit is about 900,000 acres with most of that ATV trail access.

Good choice on the honda, they are very nearly bullet proof. Get a winch for it though. Also, i really like a cargo net I bought for it... takes a couple minutes to hook up all the straps but once you get the critter clipped down and tightened, it aint going nowhere.

Cool pics. I was thinkin on a winch as my first thing for it after i fix some odds and ends on it got most of the silly stuff done. I will look into a cargo net thanks for the tips. I found the 4 wheeler on ebay and it was only 15 miles from the house, it's a older one 91 300 4x4 honda fourtrax it runs great $900 i didn't think that was to bad for a 4x4 they seem to hold there value, i have bin lookin for a while for one in my price range. This one should do what i want it to do. Very Happy Very Happy

Must say Dallan, you look a lot older in your avatar pic than you do in real life standing by your 4x4 - maybe you were having a bad day when the original was taken Smile
Most 4x4's here are Jeep Cherokee's, BMW X5's, that kind of stuff. The only off-roading they do is going into Sainsbury's car park for the weekly shop. They are mostly driven by dozy females who haven't a clue as to the size of the thing and can't get through a gap less than two feet wider than the vehicle! Don't get me started on women drivers in London Sad :(

I'm glad to see you have the critters on the 4 wheeler. Three years ago I was hunting in the Slim Buttes of Custer National Forest, and watch as two yahoo's drug their deer at what must have been twenty miles per hours across the prairie. Beside broken bones and skinless hide these two broke off one of the antlers.

After that episode I started hunting "walk in only" areas. It reduced the riff raff by a large factor. I have no problem with 4 wheelers it just 10 % of the riders I have a problem with.

If only they would just stay on designated roads and not stray off road...

Agreed. I am an advocate of responsible atv useage. I honestly wish I had property and the time to keep a horse but I dont. ATV is the horse of the new generation and while there are alot of abuses going on, there are alot of responsible riders too.

IMO they ought to just pass a law stating if you ride your ATV in a wilderness area you A) loose the ATV immediately and B) have to pay for a helicoptor to air lift it out. If that started happening you can bet your last dollar it would make a huge impact upon the abusers.

I personally use mine mostly on private property while hunting or in a region that was heavily mined in the early 1900's with pre-existing trails everwhere that have existed since that time.

Ironically, in areas where there is heavy ATV use the deer and elk become quite tolerant of them and come hunting season, you can drive up closer to some critters than you can walk.

I love the remote country though... parking and walking in to be on a ridge come sunrise is more than worth the effort.

Glad to hear you got your quad shrpshtr. Can't do any better than a Honda. They are a great tool, and recreational toy. Nothing wrong with quads. Just like guns, it's how they are used.
