I hunt on private property but if they want the deer I shot they can have it. All I have to do is make a call to the staters because the land is mine!
(I cheat! it is posted; "No Hunting without written permission" and "No trespassing") I always write myself a note before I go out. There is one road in and out, its easy to get a license number. I get the deer, the state gets the guns, the truck and the @ss#ole trespassers.

The animal is mine when it gets in my sights. I may not be much of a hunter but I can shoot! Facts are facts... I can sit real quiet in a stand, I can do a walk and stop type of stalk in scarce brush but I can't stalk through the brush without every animal in the county hearing me coming for several counties. I am what I refer to as an opportunity shooter, not a hunter.

Dimitri,

Looks like I got back just in time!! Saskatchewan IS the garden spot of the country. Lovely climate, no crime, deer and moose lining up to be shot for the hunters. Manitoba is a mosquito infested swamp with nothing but car thieves and pimps staggering around scaring all the game away. Noooo body wants to come hunting here Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Well I didn't know that just lots of water around there makes it look good for fishing. Laughing

La Ronge is a GREAT place. I caught something there once, but a shot of penicillin cleared it right up. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Since the original question on this thread was "at what point is an animal yours" now might be a good time to tell Dimitri about law of the jungle LaRonge style. Walk into the bar, you're the prey, and the first 'honey' that spots ya, you're hers. Don't try escaping you'll just die tired. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Tracker wtf

What Paul said sounds like a good idea, mark your property if you hunt on private property you own that way you can have a better legal case to the poachers that may go to hunt on your land. And I'm willing to bet that after the first time someone gets their guns and truck taken by the police and they are charged that others wont come near your property as they know better. Mind you they are idiot's in the first place because they are purposly breaking the law by trespassing and not asking for the premission of the land owner first so they might come back to hunt. Bang Head
