I want to hunt antelope in Wyoming this coming season. I am a 100% disabled Veteran, with limited use of my legs and only use of one hand. I do have a four wheeler that I can use if it is legal.
Has anyone got any info as to where the best places are to hunt or any recommendations? Any help is gereatly appreciated.

There are alot of landowners who will let you hunt for a mild fee. I know around Medicine Bow landowners are pretty cheap to allow access on. The nice thing about private land is the pronghorn arent all wild like they can be on public ground where they get chased and stuff.

We hunt #17 on private ground for $200 a head for tresspass fee. Its more than normal but in our case the landowner actually takes us out in his truck, drives us around to where he knows they all hang out and let us take our pick. He wouldnt call himself a guide but thats pretty much what it is. I've never hunted past 1pm opening day without filling my tag and my wife hers.

The big #1 question is how much do you want to spend for your hunt? You putting in for regular or special tags?

I would look up online the phone book for areas like Medicine Bow and see if there are any sporting good shops there then give them a call and ask if they know any landowners who want hunters. I know someone who hunted there 4 years ago and he said in the lobby of the hotel they stayed in, landowers actually posted adds looking for hunters. Thats why I keep mentioning that area.

I am pretty disappointed in the new "special" tag price hike up there, I was doing it each year for the better odds but once it went in effect we went regular draw and ended up not drawing last year. I'm torn on whether or not we'll go special or regular this year... guess I have about 30 days to decide LOL.

One thing is for sure, Pronghorn are alot of fun to hunt and being disabled, you still stand a really good chance to take a nice one.

Wildhorse,

You might check this link out. On this page is a link to ranchers that allow public access to their ranch for hunting, for a fee of course. Hope it's some use to you.

gf.state.wy.us/wildlif.../index.asp

Oh, in some of the small towns the chamber of commerce may have a list of ranchers that may allow hunting.

Wildhorse:

Sorry I am late to the forum...here is a fantastic link:

users.ev1.net/~chada/wyoming.html

This is a group that is for chairbound hunters, but they select 15 every year in the central South East, Wyoming. I grew up in those parts and the goats are thick.

I noticed a man on here that was disabled and was asking about antelope hunting in wyoming and figured that I would try it too. I am also in a chair and I have seen a pic on monster muleys .com of a man named justin and his b&c wyoming antelope and justin is in a chair as well. The pic has a truck in the background that has a logo on it saying Chairbound Hunters Wheatland, Wy. I have tryed to find out the info on Chairbound Hunters but I have not been able to find anything on it. If anybody on here knows how I might be able to contact Chairbound Hunters of Wheatland, WY I would be very thankfull if you would notify me on here or repost something to let me know the info or how to find it. Thank you very much

Thanks to all for the info.. I went to Wyoming in October. I was in the area near Buffalo. I had a great hunt and with the help of a few friends
I shot a really nice antelope. As I write this, I am doing the paperwork to
return to Wyoming for another hunt this fall.

My thanks to everyone involved--especially my friends without which none of the above would have been possible.

Gidday wyocowboyt7...welcome to Huntingnut mate, the worst kept secret on the net. Was gonna say pull up a stump, but you have your own chair, so you can use the stump as somewhere to sit your beer when you grab one mate, so sit a spell, relax and join in to the conversations.

OK, now that the admin is out of the way....Chairbound Hunters...have a look at this link:

Chairbound Hunters Wyoming

I'm in Australia so I can't tell you anything about them, but I'm sure that they are worth a look.

Cheers, Vince
