Gidday glockster......mate, you have the best of the best helpin' here so I 'spose I should throw in my 20c worth.

Here is another exploded drawing that may be of some assistance to you....if nothing else you can download it and store it on your computer for future reference.

Cheers, Vince

If you look at the two illustrations posted by myself and by Vince you see that #23 is different in each. #23 in mine is #34 in Vinces wtf

By the way Bushy, do you ever use that gun? It doesn't show it's age.....! It looks like it is in very good condition. Smile

Bushy...reading your explanation...and it makes sense to me Very Happy , you are talking about the Link Pin (#34 in my drawing) and the Link Pin Stop Screw (#35 in my drawing).

Reading what the Glockster has said, I think he is actually talking about the Finger Link Lever Screw (#43 in my drawing). Without pulling my crankhandle apart, from the drawing, I can't see how this pin relates to the firing pin although it seems to be in the right area to have some sort of connection with the bolt/breechblock.

From memory my drawing is from Winchester so I think its the correct one.

Just some food for thought.

Cheers, Vince

The pin that connects the lever to the bolt assembly. That is #'s 14 & 15. Controls the movement of the bolt.

Now I got it. What was the question again? I am unable to return to page one as there is a worm that keeps trying to attack my computer. Not to worry. Norton catches it. DALLANC???

Glockman55...That pin will or should fall out when the lever is pushed down. How did you break it. Again, it is a large pin.

1895ss...I've had this Winchester mod 94 ever sense I was 18 and yes it has been hunting not to mention many trips to the range. I have this habit of taking good care of my firearms that's all. But thank you for the compliment. It makes the effort worth it.

1895...Ah yeah ss...I don't have worms. Page 1 on of this thread has one. I have symantec (Norton) and it is catching that worm and killing it on my side. Everytime I try to go to page 1 it tries to get me. I have no problem with page two of this thread. No one else is having problems with this? Go figure...

I don't got a virus checker, never much been attacked by viruses so I dont mind running around the net without one. Smile

So page 1 loads fine for me. Very Happy A good way to block off viruses and the like without a real virus checker is to use Mozilla Firefox. Very Happy

If you follow the diagram the finger lever pin does go through the bottom forward part of the breech bolt, which also prevents the firing pin from sliding back out of the bolt and also holds the lever in place.. The book I'm going by is Firearms Assembly 1, The NRA Guidebook to Shoulder Arms. It shows it very clearly. I could be wrong but I won't know for sure until I pull the gun apart. I'll try to find another diagram.

Hey Vince, I've got that pic too. the only thing I can see on that one is it must cover the pre 64 too, on that one there is a No. 17 Firing pin stop pin, which my post 64 doesn't have and the firing pin on that pic is a little different than mine, I don't have the cut out on the rear bottom of the firring pin, just the front cut out, which is where the finger lever pin slides through and stops the firing pin from falling out.

According to this drawing #59 is the rear band screw. Stop screw (15) and finger lever pin (14) if broken would still be in the bolt. There isn't anywhere it can go unless the stop screw (15) is removed. The lever is up inside a slot in the bolt. I have the distinct feeling that you forgot to install the finger lever screw (14) before inserting the stop screw (15). I would get a magnet and run it over the floor of your shop, livingroom, kitchen or closet. The pin that I thought you broke was the link pin (34) and the stop screw (35) that is found on the older 94's like mine. The newer 94's have the same system to retain the link pin (34) as is used to retain the finger lever pin (14).

Yup...You are correct...This has been entertaining on a day when I dewormed both horses, repaired the water system because that old bast+++ just had to mess with it. And install the cross bolts in my new hitchin' rail.

Glockman55...For your information you may be transmitting a worm with your links as I keep getting a warning of a worm intrusion by my anti-virus system everytime I try to open your links. You may want to check this out...
