I recently picked up a Savage 93 in .22 WMR. Does anyone have any favorite loads for this cartridge?

stirling was great but havent seen it for years.....like most things shooting it will be a matter of finding what YOUR rifle likes...we tried everything in my mates from 50 grn right down to the cci speedsters and ended up back and plain ol Winchester as it was as good as any. if per chance you do end up with a deer in your sights save yourself alot of hassle and either poke a round in its earhole from the side or slip a couple in close behind the front leg......Ive seen 9 rounds slide off a stags head at 50 yards, dug big furrows in skin took out eye and an ear but just would not go in...the round in crease as it turned and ran away tipped it over 100 yards further on.

Pumpkin, I'm just wondering how long it will take before you also jump over to the .22 Hornet...
not that the Hornet is an easy one to reload, but nobody reloads the .22 WMR.
And when someone doesn't want to reload the .22 Hornet, there is always the Winchester HP which will do everything you can ask from such a small round.
Knowing what Winchester's HP can do in my .22 Hornets, when rimfire should be allowed for hunting again in Belgium, Winchester HP ammo would also be my first choise. So I'm with Elvis on this one.

I have a Marlin Model 783 .22 WMR with a 4X scope and use it for groundhogs. It is a step up from a .22 l.r. and it likes Winchester .22 WMR ammo. I use whatever ammo is available and sighted in with this rifle. So it depends what your rifle likes. All the best...
