I wonder what the story is behind this one?

Yea, Mexico also blames the U.S.A. for guns south of the border. Even the lame brain Hillary Clinton blames the U.S.A. for guns south of the border.

While I don't doubt that the CIA would play one party against another and that drugs might be involved in the deals, I rather doubt the CIA is in the drug business or is responsible for more than a very small fraction of drugs that enter the U.S.A.

Some things you may not know about Mexico versus U.S.A. policy:

1. A Mexican could buy property anywhere in the U.S.A. In Mexico, a foreigner isn't permited to buy property closer than 200 km to the coast.

2. A Mexican can sneak illegally into the U.S.A. and receive public assistance, medical care, etc. There is no public assistance in Mexico though there is government supported health care which a foreigner would only use if they paid.

3. Droves of Mexicans work in the U.S.A. The chance of a U.S. citizen working legally in Mexico in any capacity is pretty close to zero unless they wish to spend a lot of years and jump through a lot of hoops.

4. A Mexican physician can get a license to practice medicine in the U.S.A. provided they graduated from an accredited school and pass certain exam. A physician from the U.S.A. can't be licensed in Mexico unless they went to school there, gives a year of social service and takes an exam. But wait, there is more. When they do all that and are eligible for a license, the license is denied until they hire an attorney and sue the government. It was found unconstitutional to deny a license to a foreigner who went to school and completed Mexican requirements for licenseure but it's still a money maker for them.

5. It has in general been illegal for the majority of Mexican citizens to own a gun for many decades but yet many Mexicans have them.

6. Mexico has been a source of illegal drugs meant for the U.S. market for many decades.

It's illegal to own military caliber firearms in Mexico. Owning firearms in general is legal however in general.

As for the CIA and drug trafficking ... anybody remember the Contras?
