Thank you TRBLSHTR!

This is a Winchester M70 that I built, set-up as a single shot, and now chambered in a 30-284....

You did that dog a favor, I don't think I'd be puttin it on my truck tho....it's nasty...Nice shot! You got that scope dialed in pretty good too.

Suz,

I took the truck to the car wash and got all that nasty blood cleaned out of it...

I keep my long-range rifles set to hit point of aim at 600 yds. and have drop tables made in 50 yd. increments out to 1,200 yds.. All ya gotta do is range it, dial it in and pull the trigger....

That takes care of gravity but there is that little variable called wind that isn't so little at those ranges. My hat is off to you for mastering that skill.

Well done DS...definitely a mangy looking mongrel dog mate. Shooting at that range is something that is way beyond my capability, especially at a target that small...I'm surprised you could even see it out that far mate.

That is one sweet looking rifle...why single shot, not that there is anything wrong with a single shot...would just make backup shots a little slower, if one is needed.

A single shot action is stiffer and can contribute to better accuracy. Even a little bit of improvement is of value at longer ranges. Sorry, stating the obvious.

Thanks DS, and Slim. Laughing

Being an "old" sniper, I can understand your like for single shots. I must admit, the TC Contender in 30.30 Win I used to have was a magnificent single shot pistol and had the accuracy potential to shoot out further than I was capable. Damn I wish I still had that gun...it was truly a magnificent firearm.
