It is incredible! the ground on the way there was covered with SNOW!!
where just days ago we have HOT days, the last weekend we have the coldest October in 40 years!!!
Anyhow, yeah, back home safe, had a great time in the meet (like always).
The only down point (excitingly down) is this:
For the last year I have been changing from using tents/swag to using hammock in the bush.
Using hammock is really great for me because I do not have to worry about the ground, no need to pick up rocks, nor worry about slopes, or wet ground, leeches etc.
Well, on Saturday night, about 1 am, when in the dreamland, the worse nightmare for hammock-er happened to me.
My hammock suspension strap broke and I slammed down to the ground..
Lucky that I am only suspended about 1 foot high, and the ground below is thick grass, so I sort of whoomped down..
No damage, but a big scare and surprised.
I use a 1 inch nylon belting that have breaking rate of over 300kg, I guess some part of the belt must have been rotted out in storage,
surely it cannot be the weight of the long range fuel tank that I have built into my belly..

Get some poly rope to replace it - poly lasts longer than nylon and doesn't rot or mildew. Maybe put a poly rope though a nylon strap (the hollow type) and then you have the best of the nylon and poly.

I am using a TW Rasta hammock, it is really large 3.15m x 1.8m and I could really stretch out in it.
Tried Hennessy, they are over priced IMHO, but then again, they are also very good quality.
