Some time back a friend let me shoot the rifle he built for 1000 yd matches. It fired when I closed the bolt... Twice... Needless to say I didn't mess with that thing any more!

That's friggin nuts too! I can't imagine getting smacked when not ready by something like that.
Talk about a flinch waiting to happen...
Rule #1- keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction!

One day at the gun range, I was admiring a bench rest rifle. The owner was also loading his own right there on the bench. He asked if I wanted to shoot it. How could I say no. He said I better dry fire it a few times to get used to the trigger. I asked "why, does it have a 1-pound trigger pull?" No, it was 3 ounces! You didn't rest your hand on the stock, you just stuck your finger in the trigger gaurd and moved it aft when you wanted to fire. There was absolutely no "squeezing" about it. BTW, all his 5-shot groups were one hole at 100 yards. I shot a .5 inch 5-hsot group - one big hole. Best I've ever done. He called where every bullet was going based on the wind changes when pulled, no touched, the trigger. I was amazed!

Sounds like triggers on some free (as in free style, but cost $$$$$) pistols used in the local range.
Some of them have triggers set so softly that pointing the gun at 30 degree up would fire it.
Then again these things are made to shoot tiny groups of 6mm (0.25 inches) at 50 meters (55 yards) SINGLE HANDED with iron sight !!
Somewhat looking as laser guns out of Star Wars movie

Gelandangan, I saw you have a Drulov airgun, are you also familiar with the Drulov model 70 or 75? I think mine is an old model 70, the one with the stecher going down and a little button as trigger. Every time I shoot it, it makes me feel James Bond. I hope that one day I will also get their silhouet gun in .22 Hornet, must be a dream to take out hunting. And when you compare its price with other single shot pistols...
PS: and no, handgun hunting is not allowed in my country, but the day is coming close that 'they' can no longer make a government without changing the country first... hope helps feeding dreams...
By the way: when you love czech airguns, try the Tau 7. It's not an 'airgun' but a single shot CO²-gun, doing very nice things with the czech 'JSB Match Diabolo für Luftpistolen'. You should also try these Josef Schulz Bohumin's pellets in your handgun, you might be surprised.
Going from .50 BMG to .177 airguns... must be possible for nuts...

No one has posted any pictures yet?!?
Aloys, why don't you post a picture of you old model 70? No need to get dressed in the Tuxedo or hold a martini, shaken but not stirred.

What Scope you gonna use? You did not mention that. I had a Leupold MK4 LR/T 8.5-25X50mm on my 50. Cheap scopes will self destruct on a 50BMG.
