Among your Rugers, one of them may bring a smile quicker than others. What is it and why is it special?

That's a hard choice! I'd guess it would be a Super Single Six, 5.5" barrel, blued. It was my first handgun, back in '76, and it has the Bicentenial markings. No telling how many rounds have been through it. It's helped teach a number of people to shoot.

Since I still only own two, one being a blued 6" GP100 in 357 and the other being a stainless 5.5" Redhawk in 45 Colt, the choice should be easy. The GP100 was my first handgun ever so it has sentimental value and shoots better than any other handgun I own. So for now I would have to say it is my favorite. Although the big Redhawk is growing on me.

It would have to be my 5.5" .44 Super Blackhawk. I replaced the grip frame with the Dragoon style, fitted an unfluted cylinder, oversize base pin and a steel ejector housing along with a spring kit. Shoots great and still easy to carry in the field. Plan to do the same to my 4 5/8" one too...maybe it will become the new favorite (OK, I'm fickle!)

It is hard to say, I have several that have a history or memory for me. Example; My 1962 Single Six Convertable 6.5 inch bbl that I traded Dick Riley of Hoksett, NH for. Dick later became the President of the NRA. That SS was my first revolver and went afield hundreds of times with me.
Best,

Only have one Ruger and it is nothing fancy, but I love it.

.357 Police Service six, four inch barrel.

Dad bought it in 77, and never shot it. I have put about a hundred rounds through it, and it is in excellent condition.

It sits in a glass topped wood box near my chair, fully loaded and ready.

My customized 5" Bisley .44 magnum with XS express style sights. This revolver just feels "right".

I have a Ruger .357 magnum Blackhawk that I bought to replace my Colt SAA in .357 magnum (semi retired to range use only). Miss my Colt it the woods and mountains... Sad

Six inch, three screw blackhawk in 41 magnum. Hand me down from dad who bought it new. Never been back the factory for the update.

Pre-warning Blackhawk 4 5/8" with a 45 ACP cyl. Great plinker, accurate and easy to shoot. Too bad it got ripped off. rm

I like this one in 44 magnum because it has less recoil than a 38 spl. and it will keep all 6-shots inside a 3" circle at 100 yards....

Would you like to see how I built it?
