You would probably be better off looking at a local shop. Shipping on primers and powder have a Hazardous Material handling charge and usually wipes out any savings.

I've never thought I found a one stop shopping for anything, but have found good sources for almost everything. Where are you located and what brand do you prefer?

I buy powder and primers, and usually bullets, locally. Sometimes I buy them at gun shows. You might find it cheaper on the internet but remember shipping and hazmat fees.

Hey Guys
I have never been to a gun show. Missed one recently that Pumpkinslinger invited me to, but it just didn't work out.
At the shows, are the major powder manufacturers there, or is it just private businessmen selling goods.
I have not found any local source for the powders I want, and would like to avoid the haz-mat shipping fees. Since I am just getting started in reloading I do not want to buy too large a quantity of any powder, till I have tested it.
So, what can I expect to see at the gun shows??

Les, at the gun shows you'll find venders selling powder, and everything else. Many have shops someplace and use the shows to sell more stuff. You rarely find the manufacturers of the product there, unless its a really big show.
By the way, the next Charlotte show is Feb. 21-22 and I plan to go.

Pumpkinslinger,
I will put it on my calendar now. And when the show gets closer we'll decide when and where to meet. That is if you want to meet?
Thanks

Les, sure do! Maybe there are some others from NC and SC that would like to try to meet there for coffee or lunch.

I am on board with it.
But, you know who and where better than I, so keep me appraised.

Pumpkinslinger,
What I meant was that you know more people on the huntingNut forum and where they are located better than I.
So invite whoever you wish, I'm good with that.
I am sure we'll have a great time, and I am really looking forward to the show.

If you know what you want, save your money and contact Powdervalley.com make a large enough order and they are pretty reasonable.
I order 2 to 3 times a year and save alot doing so.

Crackshot,
Thanks for the lead on Powder Valley. Looks like they have some real good pricing. I will check them out more fully later.
