i just upgraded to xp and have tried to change or delete records and i get an error message can not access firearms dat file.also when editing or adding new load it wont save the changes when i close the program and reopen it has reverted back to my orignal savings.

There should be no problem with running PointBlank on a XP machine.

First off make sure DAT file exists. Next right click on it and make sure its not flagged as READ ONLY. Finally look at the size of the file and make sure its not 0... a side of 0 would mean its become corrupt somehow.

Check those things then get back to me.

thanx Dallan i found the problem you were close they were checked as hidden files(which i did months ago to clear them out of the folder and in this state it would not let me change any thing after correcting this i could change the info.Thanx Rick..

Really? Thats actually very intriging... I need to look into this some more. There shouldnt be a reason why a program cant load up a hidden file... hidden just excludes the files from any visual searches. Perhaps XP is doing something different.
