I was in a gun shop last Sunday and saw a .38 Spcl. Colt Official Police revolver. It was nicely reblued and the bore was perfect. I do not need another handgun, but the price was $140. The shop owner set it back for me. I told a few friends about the gun, but they seemed only half-interested. If they don't make a move by next week to buy the Colt, I will.

Some of the best deals seem to be the older Smith & Wesson and Colt revolvers. They are all steel and capable of shooting +Ps without a hitch. Anyone else have any thoughts? All the best...

Not about S&W revolvers, as I've only owned two (.38Spl and .357Mag), and that was many years ago.

But as to bargains, they are where you find them.

$249.95 Marlin 1895SS .45-70 (mfg in 2000), local gunshop, used but like new
$225.00 Marlin 336 .30-30 (mfg in 1989), gun show, very good shape
$375.00 Ruger .300 Win Mag, NIB, blue with canoe paddle stock, Sportsman’s Warehouse
$375.00 Ruger .223, NIB, stainless/synthetic, Galyans just before last Christmas (I didn’t buy it)
$225.00 and an unused MEC 650, Ruger Blackhawk .357 Mag, stainless, gunshow
$400.00 Ruger .257 Roberts (mfg 1989) with Leupold M8 4x, like new, private party
