"I plan to get even." ? Get even on yer own time. Right now our concern should be for PumpkinSlinger. I'm not sure if he can swim, let alone with his family on his back.

Looking at the weather map, it appears that the worst of the rain has moved offshore from NC, although there are still patches of what looks like heavy rain transiting through NC. Without knowing exactly where Punkin resides it is difficult to workout exactly what and where things are happening.

The heavy weather has most likely affected the electronic media, with the internet being one of the first things to suffer. So we’ll just have to wait until things are back up and running to hear from Punkin. Hopefully all is well with him and his family.

Sorry folks, I've been chicken sitting for the last couple of weeks with no computer access. My daughter and S-i-L took a long vacation.

We got about 8" of rain in a few days where I was. No major problems, but I didn't try to go anywhere. That area, coastal plain, is subject to flooding. Once my daughter got stuck away from home for 10 days! No way to drive there.

They also got a lot of rain at my house in the piedmont (Winston-Salem area). but no damage.

80-odd chickens, two Boxers, and my Brussels Griffon, kept me somewhat busy. One Boxer is 8-9 months old and FULL of energy! He pestered me and the 15 year old Brussels to death. We all survive though.

On the bright side, I picked up two guns and have a lead on a third. I got a Ruger 22 Charger and a Marlin 1894 .357 Mag, both new. Then I went with my S-i-L to check out an estate. Poor woman lost her husband and son within 30 days. She handed me a box with several handguns and my mouth fell open. A Mauser C-96 "Broomhandle", "Red 9" was in there, in pretty good shape. Internals look really good, with some surface rust on the frame. I've wanted one for many years so I have some negotiating to do.
