He was 13 when the Germans took over, and was 15 when Budapest was "liberated" by the Soviets from Nazi control.

The fact is, the lists of names thousands of young Jewish teens (including him Yes Sorros is a Jew, his family name at birth was "Schwartz" his father had changed their last name when he was young) were made to deliver all over occupied Europe were written up by Jewish leaders and given to the Nazis.

Why? Because everyone knew if you refused to do what the Germans said, if you were lucky you'd just be shot, but if you cooperated you might save your own hide.
