Well we all got sent home at noon today as the computers that run our machines said no more. They gave up at around 10:30am and I got on the phone with G.E. (plc logic programers) and they said the temps inside the panel that houses the plc was over 140 degrees, and they are cooled by 4 fans.
Anyway, the temp here at 1:30 is 104 with heat index of 120 and still climbing. GE also told me that it may take longer than 24hrs to cool all the embedded temp senders on our machines. I could use a few days off.

Omini, just FYI, there are some cabinet coolers from Vortex available that do a good job. We used them in Mexico years ago when we had some stepper controllers take a dive in the heat.

Thanks for the tip Pumkin, I did mention the vortex air coolers to the GE techs and they said they work great in a less humid climate. Considering we have 4 panels with 8 plc, the cost to replace the plc far outweighs the cost of 2 ac units. They will be down here Friday from Milwaukee wi to install a new panel door that has an small self contained ac unit as part of the door. So with the shop down for today, I'm going to reload some shotshells and some 30/30 rounds.

WOW...you are really copping a hammering mate. That temp is pretty nasty...but its the humidity that does the damage...to man and machine.
Find yourself a nice cool corner mate, sit down and relax with plenty of water...room temp water, your body absorbs it easier.
If you have a swimming pool, then that is the place to be mate...make sure you are in the shade though.
Cheers, Vince
