And it was sooo peaceful too.

I'm with stovey, get your peepers back on. I don't see any dogs here. Its about camo, decoys, and floating blinds. Blind has nothing to do about you not seeing the pictures right, Bushy, the floading blind is the boat.

Kinda dry down there for birds aint it?

Well, in the last week we have had thunderstorms, rain, and enough wind to blow the top of my chimney off (80 mph). Our area has gotten up to 5 inches of rain but the ground can drink up plenty more. We are hoping one of the hurricanes turns up our way. Then I could use the boat you have.

Up around here we call them Shovelers, I have heard of them called Spoon Bills before. I'll take a couple pics when I get home tonight.

I like to use the shoveler's for variety, all ducks know no body shoots shoveler's or coots on purpose.

You really think ducks are that smart from season to season...??

Coots...I'm not sure what they are good for except for an occasional target practice shot. Very Happy

Coots are flying gizzards!!! When I get a hankering for pickled gizzards the coot slaughter is on. The dogs sure have a good time.

As far as smart that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

yip them shoveler are the ones I meant. our drakes are chestnut breasted like a mallard and have sky blue and white striped feathers on the inner wing. our hens are similar to yours but with sky blue on the wing not the green speculum yours have. the drakes are by far our most colourfull and pretty waterfowl and are sent to the taxidermist more often than any other.
the drakes head is a blue grey through to green but this year we saw one that had a really bright green head, so bright we thought it was a decoy till it took off!!!
