All I could add here is that I get various news emails about industry and manufacturing and I constantly see where Chinese made products are being found defective or unsafe. Food, toys, sheetrock, etc. I make an effort to avoid them. This is not a slap at the people there because I don't know who is responsible for these incidents.

Yes, inthedark. I know. and without China we wouldn't have gun powder and without Germany we wouldn't have rocketry. But we do.

And ByTheWay...Those fluorescent light [bulbs] that will replace (manditory) incondecent light bulbs are ALL made in China because we can't make them here because of the mercury in them. EPA would have a fit and so would OSHA.

Generally when people talk about lack of freedoms in China the conversation always goes to religion. How "much" people are prosecuted in China for not being "atheist". So I figured I'd jump on that band wagon early on. Very Happy

I must apology to everyone on this topic because I fear that I may have mislead you all about my politics. I was only showing a couple of weird things that were/are going on with China and Russia. I don't for a minute trust either of them as far as I can throw my truck. That being said I have faithfully served in both our (US/CAN) countrie's military and I will defend either country to my death. I feel that it is a small price to pay for what they have given me. Freedom.

No need to apologize for anything. To be on the side of caution is a good idea over all. Like your user name, most people are in the dark about not only the world but their own countries, no matter what they believe they know. Hence why being on the side of caution is always a good idea.

I do not err on the side of caution. This is what I am and I believe whether it is correct or not. Whether anyone likes or not. And there is no arguing with me because I am right for me and me alone.

Well for standing in the receiving end of the arguments, since I have Asian (Chinese) blood in me.
I for one, do not loose sleep much about the comments received.
I am an Australian by choice, I swore allegiance to MY country.

I believe everyone have the right of an opinion and I would not even think to change your mind.
I present the facts as I found them, it is a biased view as was observed by my own biased eyes.

Geland I was hoping you didn't take any offense to the comments I made, and I didn't want to say anything that would sound like I held a grudge against you, because I know of your allegiance to Australia. I assumed you would know that I wasn't talking about you. Thank you for saying so.

I stated my feelings about China and copy and pasted data that I found to back myself up. It's fun to debate on here because you have time to check your facts. I'm going to watch Gary Cooper now....Man from the West....it's a goodun!
