Some 5 years ago I asked the "where to aim" question,
and today I found the site with PICTURES of vital parts for almost all game animals in Africa..
Let me share them a bit, maybe some of you going to be lucky enough to go hunt there..
and generous enough to send some a ticket to go as well

texus heart shots work ok with the .270 but I wouldnt try it with the .223. I had a simmons 3x9x40 scope that was a arsebandit. every single animal I shot with it was drilled up the date. I even missed a whitetail twice broadside on then drilled it anothr hole between its 2 out holes at 150ish yards. check out the deer clock in matt and bruce grants "sharpshooter"

Gelan.
Questions 1. & 2.: If you are not comfortable with a head shot then let this animal go. Better to tell the story of the one that got away rather than have to live with wounding an animal and not recovering it.
Question3.: The argument of slow vs. fast is an old one and nobody is winning because both sides have valid points. Trust your 308 win, it has killed many critters and is a fine round.
Question 4.: Because that is the way the earth spins!

Thanks Vince. I really enjoy the site and like reading the forums but don't usually post, don't know what got into me on this question. Guess I'm getting bolder with age!

Welcom aboard ajennings. Grab one of Vince's beers and stump to sit on and maybe as you pass the wood pile you could bring some for the fire.

Thanks for your input ajennings!
I definitely could and want to learn more!
This here forum is akin to my pistol club's "table of wisdom" where all the OLDIES sit and chew the fat.
Of course beer are not permitted there, so more the better here
