We finally had a little winter this year. We had three days below freezing. The last time it did that was in 1985.

I actually got to burn my fireplace for three days. The spiders that normally make it their home were abandoning ship.

This weekend is potato planting time in South Texas. We'll plant corn in 12 days and green beans in about 20 days.

Vince, you should be getting ready to plant your winter/fall garden.

Yep...approaching that point now Slim...and it actually looks like we might get a winter this year. I'm looking forward to it...has to be better than these 30*C, 95% humidity days and nights.

Wow, it hit 80F today. That feels warm compared to last week! But we have a cold front coming back through next week that will drop our temps into the 60s.

Spring has sprung in South Texas. I'm starting to see wild flowers blooming. Corn planting is underway from the King Ranch south.

When I retired I moved from North Dakota to Nebraska 14 years ago-- So far this year there was one night when it was 14 below. This morning it was 3 above , may get in the 20s today with light snow.. Im looking at a US map to see where there is BLM and forest service land further south.
