I just acquired a 1895 ss and found out the stock had a bad hair line crack in it. I would like to replace it with a stock stock any ideas where I might find one.

If I was replacing the stock I'd look at a laminated one. I think they'd be more water resistant but still look good on the gun.

Marlin also do a laminated stock from memory...and they are apparently extremely resistant to the vagaries of a normal wooden stock...like swelling and buckling moisture...but they still have the look and feel of timber.

Cheers, Vince

Elkdog, I have two 1895s, one from about 1972 and the other is a Guide Gun w/ ported barrel. Accurate, powerful and FUN. If you reload try Accurate 5744 for great "factory level" loads.
