I stopped in my local gun shop to waste some time and stumbled onto a U.S. 1917 Enfield. The last one they got in was in rough shape for $700.00. I got this one on lay away for about half that price. That will teach me. Take care...

I bought one today for $100.00 in excellent condition with all three chokes still in-tact and working fine. I cleaned it, shot it a few times and think it was a great buy but not lucky as your brother.
