Joe...I don't have that problem with my Powder Pro. It is sensitive enough that it will register as you trickle. I can load the pan with 5.5 and trickle up to 5.8. Take the pan off the scale and put it back on and it will read 5.8 grains (repeatable)

Mine is "repeatable" with a given weight it just has that issue while adding weight. It wasn't a very expensive one ( we all no I'm cheap ) I think it was 90 bucks I guess sometimes ya get what ya pay for

I've heard other guys talk about this. It's one of the reason I never got serious about buying a digital.

If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I want to set it and get it. I shouldn't have to be trickleing and tapping to get what I want.

The rcbs 750 that I bought seams to be real good at adjusting to the powder as soon as it hits the pan.

I haven't noticed that it takes my digital any longer to "settle" than it did my beam scale. If anything it's faster.

Any of you guys who don't use your beam scales any more can send them to me! I like the beam scales over all of the digitals that I have tried.

One advantage of the digital over the beam is that you can seat your bullets while the next load is being dispensed. Once you get in a rhythm you will be finished with the bullet seating shortly after you are finished powder charging:

1. Hit dispense button
2. Seat bullet while the dispenser is going
3. Place finished cartridge back in loading block
4. Take next case out of loading block and look down the neck as a last check for no charge or double charging
5. Place charged case with bullet in shell holder
6. Dispenser has finished so funnel powder into next case
7. Move funnel over next empty case but always check for powder bridging
8. Hit dispense button

It is important to always seat the bullet while the dispenser is going off so as to not shake the dispenser when it is close to finishing or is finished.

I use beam scales and like them. Take care...

I waited a long time before taking the plunge.
Got a RCBS 750 for combination Christmas/birthday.
On large differences in weight I can see maybe 3 seconds of settling.
But when trickling (small weight change) it seems to be pretty instantaneous. This is consistant with the type of electronics used inside. It is a particular type of analog to digital converter chip.

I like the digital ones better, mainly for the speed and ease of use. But the bars are more accurate in my view. I use a Frankford Arms digital scale which is like 55$ and works great.

Dipper's and beam's dont' need no batteries.

Yup...Came with an adapter and has no place for batteries. Invented 23 years ago...I think Pact made this scale for RCBS. And it's made in the U.S.A.
