Yes Eric they are that good. What you have witnessed is typical of the Sig reputation !!!
When I first decided to get into pistols some years ago, I talked with a 1911 gunsmith.
I told him I was looking for the best out of the box 45 ACP for carry/target/fun.
His reply was go buy a Sig 220 and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
He wasn’t wrong. I am happy !!!
Other than messing with some lead wadcutter reloads, my 220 has never failed to cycle properly !!! ( I finally got them to work after adjusting OAL. )
I am yet to find anyone who has had a 226 or 228 fail to feed either.
I have said it over and over, This gun is more accurate than most .45’s I’ve seen, including my Kimber Gold Match.
Sig is making some single action models these days. The 220 match and super match 45’s and the 226 X-five in 9MM.
The X-five is pushing 3 grand retail the 220 match $1,500
They are pricy but ............... I need one
