The scope has Winchester patent 1919 on it and I was told it was a kit when purchased to put on the gun.

Bushmaster,
Mine has a serial # and although I've never contacted Marlin to learn when it was built, it is likely only about 20 years old.
I bought it (from a pawn shop) in 1995, and it was in very good condition (still is). Couldn't find one at any of the metro Phoenix gun shops-they all had the 22 mag-so I called this large pawn shop and there it was just waiting for me.
Can Marlin tell what year they began using serial #'s?

I have a Mohawk 10C. It is actually a Remington Nylon 66 in the brown color with a 10 shot magazine or "clip" thus the 10C designation. It is the most acurate 22 LR I have ever shot. I purchased it about 35-37 years ago new from a K-Mart store. It was marked as a "Single Shot Shotgun", $29.95. I didn't tell the sales clerk any different. So, I took the "Single Shot Shotgun" home with me for less than $32 including tax. I have put a lot of round through it. Recently, the magazine with not stay engaged and falls out on its own. I am hoping to find a gunsmith who can fix it and not charge me an arm or leg to do it. Anyone know of a good gunsmith who works on these things? Remington no longer supports this gun.

Brno model 2 for me. Earlier version of the CZ but with a steel magazine 'box' and doesn't have the hogsback stock, has a nice classic style similar to the 'american' but with a schnabel foreend. And shoots very well.

yes they can and so can you.. if it is pre 1970 model (roughly) say serial #695033 the rifle was made in 1969.. after 1970 they went to different method, of subtracting the number so after 1970 a serial #175433 would be (year 2000-17) or made in 1983

I picked up a Henry Lever a couple months ago. Pretty neat little rifle and pretty darn accurate with the open sights and has a very nice trigger pull. A whole lot of fun to shoot.-tr

I haven't a.22 but I love the Henry lever action my brother has. It holds 1moa @ 50 yds.

Crackshot,
I have a Norinco and just as you say if you keep it reeasonably clean it functions just fine. It is accurater and I replaced a part with a Brownging part and it fit right in with no problem.

My favorite .22 is my Ruger 77/22 in .22 Mag. It is very accurate and I have gotten numerous animals with it, everything from roosters to Feral Pigs and Axis Deer.
