Mildot

I was having great difficulties in establishing distances without my range finder.

So I bolt on a mildot scope on my rifle.
Then what?
I only gone out hunting four times a year, so I cannot practice much to use the scope..
Until I found this site

My best score so far is 72

ok its a demo, but I reckon its quite good for what it is.
Anybody know other sites that do similar stuff?

That's kinda neat, but it shows that I really need some work. Does it tell you the range or the size of the target before you fire, did I miss something? Embarassed

While I do not currently use a scope wit Mil dots I have in the past and still have the slide rule like tool called a Mildotmaster. If you know what you are looking at and can estimate fractions of a mildot regularly it as good as a laser rangefinder. Remember that you have to be at a fixed magnification to be accurate. Most scopes that is 10x. If you have a variable I would do some testing and paint a mark on the power ring to show where the mildots are accurate. If your dot covers 3.6" at 100 yards it is good.
