Modified 50BMG to 416 caliber to piss off California as far as I have heard. Works better too I might add. Before reading that Wiki Artical I never heard it had a military purpose behind it ?? Confused

Either way Barrett this is a statement from Ronnie Barrett.

Quote::
Unfortunately, the chief's [William J. Bratton] position did not change. He continued to use his officers in the same deceptive practices formerly utilized with the city council. These few officers testifying in Sacramento ultimately contributed to the unconstitutional AB50 law being passed. It saddened me to have to tell members of the LAPD SWAT team that they would have to send someone for their rifle, because I refused to assist anyone or any organization that is in violation of the United States Constitution. In turn, the department arranged to pick up their un-serviced rifle.

Barrett cannot legally sell any of its products to lawbreakers. Therefore, since California's passing of AB50, the state is not in compliance with the US Constitution's 2nd and 14th Amendments, and we will not sell nor service any of our products to any government agency of the State of California.

Good for him standing up for firearm owners while risking losing alot of money in sales and support costs. Speaks volumes about him. Shame getting a Barrett is illegal here (by name not caliber other 50BMGs are still legal). Smile

Still if you really want a 416 you may consider waiting till the M82A1/M107 come out in that caliber. Smile

On another note--Good for Barrett-Tell those Kalifornian Kommies to go

It's time someone from the industry stood up and said "no more".

Wild,

Many companies have been pro-gun for average people such as in Ill. where Bill 2414 (a AWB) that didn't get voted on the deadline because of pressure of Pro-Gun groups and manufacturers.

Quote::
"If this passes, we're out of town," said Dennis Reese, co-owner of Springfield Armory in Geneseo, one of four gun makers located in the Rock River Valley town of 6,400 residents.

Quote::
"Our only course of action would be moving out of state," added Mark Westrom, president of ArmaLite Inc., another Geneseo gun manufacturer.

Quote::
Along with Springfield Armory and ArmaLite, other companies involved in fighting the ban include Lewis Machine & Tool of Moline, Les Baer Custom Inc. of Hillsdale and Rock River Arms Inc. of Colona

All good in my books.
